A team from University of Toronto have developed a device that can isolate ~100,000 high quality sperm for assisted reproduction with a very simple clinical workflow. To isolate sperm cells, the device is just inserted into a test tube with 1ml of semen in it. In addition to being simple to use and reducing sample preparation time, the device also outperforms the best clinical methods and improves DNA integrity of the selected sperm cells by 95%.
