Scientists have developed a paper-based microfluidic sensor that can detect antimicrobial pollutants that induce antimicrobial resistance in water bodies. They sensor provides test results through a color change. The novel, low-cost analytic sensor is fabricated using commercial laser printers.
As water bodies are the major source for the transfer of anti microbial resistance, such low cost and field-deployable sensors are a viable tool to detect antimicrobials to begin tackling this problem.
